Bally Technology New Gaming Server
February 9, 2012
This is huge news and a complete shot out of the blue. Something that is likely to rock the online casino and online slots market to its very roots. Anyone who has regularly visited this site will no doubt already know that when it comes to licensable online slots platforms, then the current market is captured mainly by four companies, namely Microgaming, Cryptologic, Net Entertainment and Playtech. Breaking into this market and grabbing a decent market share would have been almost impossible for any company, as the big four are so established. However, there is one way in which this could happen, and although unlikely, this is exactly the scenario we are reporting on.
Bally Technology is one of the largest developers of casino slots and other casino gambling games. They have a product catalogue of hundreds of real life casino games. In an incredibly gutsy move, Bally Technology has been developing what they name their Remote Gaming Server (RGS). The Bally RGS allows the deployment of all of the Bally Technology developed casino slots across both a web based and mobile platform, and it is ready for launch. Put simply, any online casino can integrate the Bally RGS quickly, and instantly gain access to hundreds of new online slots and online casino games.
Bally Technology has been incredibly clever here. As we mentioned previously, the online slots platform market is pretty much sewn up by the big four. The only way a new company could break into this market is if they already had a stable of high quality online slots already developed; ready go with almost zero cost to bring them to market. Bally Technology didn’t quite have this, what they do have is hundreds on established casino slots. By creating the Bally RGS they can now deploy these existing games at zero cost to both the web and mobile users.
We cannot stress how much the new Bally RGS could affect the online casino arena, and specifically online slots play. If they do this right, Bally Technology could steal a huge chunk of the market out from under the noses of Playtech, Crytologic, Net Entertainment and Microgaming. This is some of the most interesting news we have reported on in the last 12 months!
