New Playtech Mobile Platform
July 9, 2012
Love it or hate it, mobile online gambling is the current trending technology for online slots fans. Mobile slots have really taken off at many online casinos since the beginning of the year. Until now, the mobile slots market has been dominated by heavyweight video slots developer Microgaming. This situation is about to change significantly though, as Playtech steps in, collaborating with Paddy Power, to deploy a brand new mobile slots platform.
Playtech have taken the fast track to a mature mobile slots platform by acquiring Mobenga, and along with it the mobile slots platform which Mobenga has developed. However, this is a platform with far more scope than delivering mobile online slots, it can also provide for other casino games such as blackjack and roulette, as well as a fully operational sports betting platform.
The first Playtech powered online casino to be deploying the new mobile slots platform is Paddy Power, which will be acting as a testing ground, as well as making the new platform instantly accessible to every one of its registered players. This is an excellent plan, as it means that Playtech will receive instant feedback from one of the top names in online gambling, and from a massively wide range of potential users.
The new platform which will be downloadable from the Paddy Power mobile site will make video slots available to a wide range of mobile devices including smartphones and pad devices such as the iPad and iPhone, Blackberry and a whole host of Google Android enabled devices. The platform also operates on some proprietary platforms from the likes of Nokia. So this means that it should be accessible to just about anyone who is serious about playing online slots on the move.
We are really very excited by this news, as we believe that having the mobile slots market dominated by a single developer will eventually lead to stagnation, and not innovation. So the fact that Microgaming now has some competition form Playtech is great news. So good luck to Playtech, we wish you well with your collaboration with Paddy Power!
